OCPL holds a number of family files from previous researchers. Please see our catalogue to determine if the family name you seek is available.
Newspaper on Microfilm:
OCPL has newspapers dating back to the early 1800's on microfilm.
Cemetery Records
OCPL has listings for area cemeteries which can be searched.
Fees for Genealogy Services
Due to increased cost OCPL has found it necessary to ask fees for genealogy research services offered. Fees will offset costs for staff time, printing and maintenance. We will try to keep fees small as possible.
For mailed requests that are simple searches requiring less than 15 minutes to complete, we ask that patrons include a $3 donation along with their request in self-addressed stamped envelope. For mailed requests that require more time, we ask that patrons include a $10 donation along with their self-addressed stamped envelope.
Fees will not apply to in-person research. In-person researchers are asked to pay for any copies they make while in the building.
E-mail requests will receive a reply from library staff outlining the above fees.
Patrons are asked to include as much information on the request form as they may know.
